Our Story

Once upon a time about seven years ago, from the deep swamps of Gainesville, comes a story you should know. There was a big ole bear named Levi who was living to his ends, in the crappiest of apartments with three other friends. It was school they were attending, but the fun was never ending and it just so happened that a little squirrel named Marisa had two close friends who were girls, not twins. Melanie and Lexi: the crazy, the sexy, lived in the same crappy lair as the big ole bear. Then one afternoon while sitting on the porch, like a moth to a flame the girls noticed the bears court. “Less Than Jake” they said, and their faces turned red, “We love that band! May we come and stand?” The kids got to rappin about the party that was to happen, as they often did, and an invitation was given to them and any other ladies that wanted in. So later that night as the fun had begun, the girls came back with one more that wasn’t there at the meeting before. It was brief and short lived but neither forgot, the very first night that the two laid sight. Another year had past until the two crossed paths, but this time the significant parties before were significant no more and this my friend is where the story begins.

It was in a class of the of the artsy kind, but paying attention wasn’t on the bears mind cause every session that they met, the bear sat and slept. Meanwhile, the little squirrels intention was to make a chore of finding out if this was the bear from before. As the semester was coming to a close the bear had no choice but to show his nose and sign his name to the roll before the little squirrel did so once more. She spoke up and said, “You’re Levi and we’ve met” and to the big bears surprise, right before his sleepy eyes, sat the woman of his dreams and the trembling of his knees. Nervous to admit that all this time as he slept in the back, he wished this woman he could find. A few more classes past and some studying too, the couple grew closer but nobody knew.

As Christmas came fast and the two said adieu, a few weeks apart would decide what they already knew. Some phone calls, not few, and some letters, too and the couple were rejoined at the Spring semester of school. One party and one kiss that the two could not resist and the nervousness before was to be seen never more.

One more year the wiser and the bear’s school was done, and so began the nightmare that bear had dreamed of. He had to move away to finish what he had started, but both them wished that he had never parted. Two hours minus half it took to bring the two back, but no more than a year they knew it could last. The squirrel packed her things when her time was done and made the bravest decision she had ever spun. To join the bear in his life up there in the city by the sea and put and end to a year of agony. For ever in debt to the squirrels selfless act, in his mind he made the everlasting pact. To marry this woman and never look back. To the squirrels dismay it took many a day for the bear to make the leap, as anyone would agree, 6 more years was pretty deep. But all along from the very first day the bear new his heart was hers to take.

And on the seventh year to the date of the very first night they laid awake, too nervous to sleep, too nervous to think, they took an anniversary trip to a place not so far away. After a dinner, a tour, and a scare once more, the bear prepared to seal their fate. But the plans he had made were not the ones he would take. On a bench by the street, a cafe and a seat, the bear asked the question with ring and intention. To stay together till death do they part, the bear opened his hand and gave the squirrel his heart. Never again will a time come to pass when the couple of two would sit separate in class and so said the squirrel with look of sass, of course you big bear… My answer is YES!
